Rob Jackson is the Principal/Creative Director of Extra Credit Projects, an advertising, design and promotion collaborative based in Grand Rapids, Michigan which specializes in award-winning Outdoor Advertising. Extra Credit serves a variety of national clients who are looking for simple, relevant creative work that is consumer driven. Before opening his doors in early 2006, Jackson was a Creative Director at Jager Group, one of the leading agencies in the Midwest, where he spearheaded a variety of successful unconventional campaigns. Prior to that, He spent several years as National Creative Director for Adams Outdoor Advertising, one of the top outdoor companies in the United States, where his branding and promotional work received international attention. Jackson earned a B.F.A. in Illustration from Kendall College of Art and Design and an M.A. in Advertising Design from Syracuse University, and has also studied at the School if Visual Arts in NYC. He has been mentored by the likes of creative legends Lou Dorfsman, David Altschiller, Amil Gargano, Bruce Campbell and Milton Glaser. He also spent a period of time in Italy studying art and design while serving as an illustrator for the U.S. Navy Sixth Fleet. His advertising and design work has been showcased in Archive, Brandweek, PrintCritic, Graphic Design USA and Print Regional Design Annuals. Awards include numerous Obies, National Addys, Graphis, Cannes Lions and a 2006 Telly Award, just to name a few. Current clients include Anheuser-Busch, Hackley Hospital, Kalamazoo Air Zoo, Michigan’s Adventure, Zondervan, and The Outdoor Advertising Association of America. Jackson is a visiting professor in the graduate program at Syracuse University, an Adjunct Professor at Kendall College of Art and Design and a member of the OAAA creative committee. Rob speaks internationally to Ad Clubs, Universities and corporations on creative simplicity in advertising.
